This

help you decide if this is for you. Living in an apartment with no room to
have a hobby in progress. Does this sound familiar ? Hello my name is Pierre. I
love to build things. There is always a new project on the horizon with me. The concept of a tool chest struck me, however my needs were greater. I needed a supply bin and workbench that could be tucked away as well. With knowledge of CAD (Computer Assisted Drafting), I began conceptualizing the requirements for the BENCH BUDDY. Combining a tool chess with a workbench and a stock bin, I concluded with this product. Based on a crude detailed drawing, I began building the proto-type. It was not pretty, but it worked !!! Over some time, I refined the practicality of this concept and thought I should make the plans available. In building the prototype, I learned this is not a simple project about 60 hours. By the time I finished, I learned to build drawers, and lots of them. The prototype BENCH BUDDY was built with door panel board, and had small 2" wheels. When it was loaded with my favorite tools and stock it weighed a ton and did not move around well. I have since then learned how to improve the BENCH BUDDY. First, by enlarging the wheels, it moves around easier, in fact the larger the wheels the lighter it felt. Then I changed the choice of material for the drawers to 1/4"material for the boxes and 1/2" material for the front panels. This improved the strength and durability of the drawers when used continuously. I have built many of my projects on the BENCH BUDDY and enjoyed every minute of it. If you have any suggestions to accommodate special design needs please feel free to contact me. I am flexible and so is the BENCH BUDDY. |
